数控刀具的机床主轴转速非常高,主轴输出功率也是比较大的,与传统的切削方法而言,对铣刀的要求更加严格,对刚性、精度、强度这些要素的要求都更加的严格,与此同时还会要求尺寸的稳定,要方便安装和调整,这一系列的问题都对铣刀的结构、几何参数的标准化、系列化提出了非常严格的要求。
我们在选用合适的铣刀时,尽可能让不锈钢铣刀的尺寸与被加工工件的表面尺寸相适应,在实际生产中,对于平面工件的周边轮廓加工,通常选用立铣刀,在铣削平面时,先选硬质合金铣刀,在加工凸台、凹槽类时,先选高速钢立铣刀,在加工毛坯表面或对孔粗加工时,推荐选用镶硬质合金刀具的玉米刀片,对一些立体型面和变斜角轮廓外形加工时,选用球头铣刀、环形刀具、锥形铣刀和盘形刀较多。
对于自由曲面的加工,因为球头铣刀的端部切削速度为零,这时候为了保证加工的精度,切削的行距会很小,所以球头铣刀对于曲面精加工有较高的友好度,然而端铣刀在表面加工的质量和效率上对比球头铣刀优势会更明显,所以,在保证工件加工不存在过切现象时,在曲面的粗加工和半精加工时,我们尽量选择端铣刀。
